ECB's Governing Council member Vujcic: The difference between starting to cut rates in April or June is not big for the economy

European Central Bank (ECB) Governing Council member Boris Vujcic stated on Tuesday that, in his view, the difference between starting to cut rates in April or June is not big for the economy. He added that the pace of reduction is more important for the economy. “It doesn’t have to be continuous like we saw on the way up - there will probably be pauses,” he added.

Vujcic also stressed that it’s more important to achieve a kind of smooth transition to the rate-cutting and said that 25-basis-point moves are preferable to larger moves.
