The European
Commission (EC) announced on Wednesday
its flash estimate revealed the consumer confidence indicator for the Eurozone rose
by 0.6 percentage point to -15.5 in February from an unrevised -16.1 in the previous
month.
Economists had forecast
the index to increase to -15.6 early this month.
Considering the
European Union (EU) as a whole, the consumer sentiment indicator increased by 0.4 percentage points to -15.8 in February.
Despite this month’s gains, both indicators remained well below their long-term
averages.
