The Ministry of Labour, Health and Solidarity's Directorate of Research, Economic Studies and Statistics (Direction de l'animation, de la recherche, des études et des statistiques, DARES) reported on Thursday that claims for unemployment benefits in France fell to 43,500 in November from 53,600 in October.
DARES also said that the number of job-seekers in the country amounted to 2,935,000 last month, up 43,500 from 2,891,500 in October. This marked the strongest gain in the number of people registered as out-of-work since April 2020 and represented the highest reading since August 2022.
