The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Instituto Nacional
de Estadística y Geografía, NEGI) announced on Monday its latest survey revealed
that consumer confidence in Mexico in December retreated further from an all-time
high reached in October.
According to the report, Mexico’s consumer confidence
index slipped to 47.1 points in December from 47.7 points in November. That
marked the second monthly decline in the indicator after it hit a record level
in October (49.5) and represented the lowest reading since July (47.1).
