USD depreciated against most of the other major currencies in the European session on Thursday as investors awaited several crucial economic reports, due out today and tomorrow, hoping for clues on the Federal Reserve’s future rate actions.

The U.S. Dollar Index (DXY), measuring the U.S. currency's value relative to a basket of foreign currencies, traded at 102.03, down 0.37% from the previous close.

Later in the day, investors will pay attention to the U.S. weekly jobless claims data and the final third-quarter GDP growth reading. These releases will be followed by Friday's report on personal income and spending for November, which includes the Federal Reserve’s favourite measure of inflation, the core personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index.

Economists expect the annualized increase in the core PCE price gauge, which excludes food and energy, to ease to 3.3% from 3.5%, supporting the arguments for the rate cutting by the Fed next year.
