The U.S. Energy
Information Administration (EIA) announced on Thursday that natural gas
inventories fell by 140 billion cubic feet (bcf) in the week ended January 5. That marked the sixth straight
weekly fall in natural gas inventories.
Economists had
anticipated a decline of 119 bcf.
The previous
week witnessed a drop of 14 bcf.
