Speaking at the World Governments Summit in Dubai on Monday, Kristalina Georgieva, managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), said that she expects interest rates to start coming down from the middle of the year and that she is very confident that the world economy will see a soft landing.
Georgieva also noted that the economies outside of the Middle East are avoiding spillovers from the war between Israel and Hamas now, but warned that if it goes on, the risk of spillovers will go up.
