Germany's finance minister Lindner says he expects an upturn in the Eurozone's largest economy very soon

Germany's finance minister Lindner told Bloomberg TV that he is very optimistic about the outlook for the Eurozone's largest economy and expects an upturn very soon.

Meanwhile, he acknowledged that Germany’s competitiveness is not as good as it should be but added that he will prepare proposals over the next couple of months on how best to improve it.

Lindner also expressed the view that an exit of Germany from the European Union (a so-called "Dexit"), for which the far-right Alternative for Germany party (AfD) has called, would ruin the German economy.

In addition, the official noted that commercial real estate is undergoing an adjustment period as many companies involved in this business have to correct their expectations amid elevated interest rates. “I think we have to be aware of the situation,” he added.
