New York Federal Reserve Bank president John Williams said on Monday that he thinks that monetary policy is in a good place but added that the Fed policymakers will need to start a process at some point to bring interest rates back to more normal levels. "My own view is that process will likely start this year,” the official added.
Williams also noted that the U.S. consumers and the broader economy continue to be strong and said that he does not see the recent inflation data as a turning point.
