Germany's finance minister Lindner says the country's economic model is not broken but it has lost competitiveness

Germany's finance minister Christian Lindner said on Monday that the country's economic model is not broken but it has lost competitiveness for about a decade. "We can't be satisfied with the economic developments in Germany," he stressed. Lindner, however, assured that after the reforms, his government is introducing, Germany will have more competitiveness again.

The official also noted that he is worried about the debt situation in certain European countries.

In addition, Lindner noted that the Franco-German partnership is so strong that both countries can exchange different views on difficult topics such as EU tariffs.
