European Central Bank Governing Council member and Bank of France governor Francois Villeroy de Galhau reaffirmed on Thursday that he is committed to returning inflation to 2.0% by 2025.
The official also noted that the French economy is slowing but is more robust than feared. "France will not be in a recession in 2024," he added and confirmed the 2024 growth estimate for France of 0.9%.
