European Central Bank Governing Council member Pierre Wunsch said on Thursday that wage rises are holding up rate cuts. However, the official noted that the ECB policymakers have some indications, not strong ones, that wage growth in the euro area is softening. "There is value in waiting to get more comforting wage data," Wunsch added.
